DELUXE 2CD DIGI-BOOK EDITION OF THE CLASSIC 1958 ALBUM FROM THE BLUES GREAT BONUS DISC FEATURING RARITIES FROM THE VEE-JAY VAULTS. Jimmy Reed is one of the most highly-revered blues artists, having inspired countless generations of artists including the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton.
I'm Jimmy Reed, released in 1958, was his first album for the legendary Vee-Jay label and features the Reed classics as 'Honest I Do', 'Ain't That Lovin' You Baby' and 'You Don't Have To Go'. The second disc of the deluxe 2CD edition of the album features 22 rare tracks taken from sessions across his Vee Jay career. The tracks avoid his best-known material in an attempt to concentrate on the rarer material in his catalogue. Most of these selections are b-sides of singles or album only tracks. Many of them have only ever previously appeared on Charly LPs during the 80s or made their only CD appearance on the groundbreaking 9-CD box set of his complete Vee Jay recordings released by Charly in 1994.
