'Sailin Shoes' was the second album by Southern band Little Feat, the last to include the original line-up, and the first of many to feature Neon Parks striking artwork. The albums sound was also a slight shift from their debut, helped along by the first collaboration with renowned producer Ted Templeton (Van Halen, Aerosmith, Van Morrison, The Doobie Brothers). The songs are tightly crafted and display Little Feat's individual blend of pop, rock, country and blues, which was mostly down to the stellar song writing by the bands leader Lowell George. He clearly demonstrated that he could write anything from mainstream rock on the classic 'Easy To Slip', to ballads like 'Trouble', folk with the title track and blues on 'Apolitical Blues'.
