Canadian rock band Damn Pigeon is pleased to announce the release of their second album - Re-Coop. Based out of St. Thomas, Ontario, this versatile five-piece guitar-rock outfit is following up on their 2010 debut album 'Dismal Reviews' with a new record featuring twelve original songs. While perhaps best described as hard guitar-rock, this band has a delightful capacity to surprise, and an unapologetic tendency to bend genres. The band writes collectively. 'Re-Coop' was produced, engineered, recorded and mixed by Joe Edmiston at Joe's Garage Studios in Union, Ontario, Canada during the late summer and autumn of 2013. Some vintage instruments were used on the recording, most prominently a 1973 Gold-Top Gibson Les Paul - graciously loaned by a friend, along with an old Gretsch, an old Guild and two different resonator guitars. If you listen closely, we're sure you'll be able to pick out the sound of that Gold-Top (with it's mini-humbuckers) on many of the cuts on this record. The album was mastered at Beach Road Mastering by Seigfried Meier. Independently released by the band on CDBaby in February, 2014, the disc has received international airplay on both i-Net and broadcast radio, and the reviews have been solid. Opener 'I’m Down' is a simple rocker with shades of both early Whitesnake and bands such as America or Kansas - simplicity is key - and it introduces you to the two key elements in this band: the vocals and the blistering yet subtle guitar work.'
