It features great versions of Herbie Hancock’s “Watermelon Man”, the Duke Ellington classic “The Mooche”, “SlumberJohn”, a hot original, Professor Longhairs “Big Chief” + some very cool rap by the late Shaka Johnson. The whole album is bursting with vibrant energy and life - right from the completely traditional numbers to the funkier songs.
