Once upon a time, Kalyani realized that sharing joy and happiness is what makes life worth living. So she quit her job in Corporate America and vowed to only do work that brings people smiles. Things like singing songs, giving massages, making delicious healthy cookies and candy, and creating whimsical costumes. Kalyani’s music reflects this attitude, as well as the exuberant yet affable energy that seems to surround her like a cloud. In live performances, her informal attitude and candid stories often leave audience members feeling like they’ve known her forever. And Kalyani’s loving nature reciprocates this feeling; she truly seems to love everybody! Kalyani has been singing and writing songs since childhood. After attending college for classical piano and voice, she sang and played keyboards in the Scranton, PA indie rock band “Essence.” Later, she sang with “Jazz Therapy” in Columbia, SC. Kalyani blends folk, rock, jazz, and classical influences, creating a sound that is fun, danceable, and uplifting. In 2001, Kalyani moved to Texas and started her career as a singer/songwriter, with guitar as her primary instrument. Kalyani lives, loves, and plays in Austin, Texas.
