The trip Ziya Ertekin aka Blue Flamingo made through Africa in 2011 took three months. An unforgettable adventure brought him to six countries. While in Kenya waiting for a flight to Cameroon, he decided to use this day to find out about the record label CMS (Capitol Music Store) (already defunct in the 60s). If the journey is more important than the destination, then this certainly applies to this quest. Upon colourful encounters in all parts of the city, not only the story behind CMS became clear but also about some other labels, such as AGS (African Gramophone Store) and Melodica. Gradually the history of East African music in general unfolded. "A Search for CMS 'is therefore above all a story that should be told. From the early acoustic guitar styles to the driving syncopated rhythms of the later Benga music. Thus, this album became a cross section of Kenyan music developed under various influences and circumstances. A special trip with a wonderful result.
