The latest release on Grey Past Records is the debut LP of the electro punk group, 'Disco in the Disco'. Thijs Janssen, Christiaan Overal and Thijs Bruurs are the band members. They play a smorgasbord of electronic instruments, among others guitars, synthesizers, drum computers and diverse sophisticated peripheral equipment. Most vocals are handled by Christiaan Overal, guitar by Thijs Janssen and Thijs Bruurs as little as he can possibly get away with. The vision was born by sheer chance in Christiaan Overal's brain and it soon became clear that the concept of 'Disco in the Disco' was too great for one person to manage. So he went looking for reinforcements. Finally, after four tedious rounds of auditioning, Thijs Janssen and Thijs Bruurs remained standing. The fact that actually settled the matter, was that Christiaan then had only one name to remember. And ever since then they have remained the super formation of 'Disco in the Disco', inexhaustibly creating sublime danceable electro punk-rock. Their lack of virtuosity is abundantly compensated by their good looks and slick dance moves. On this, their debut album they will introduce you to what they are capable of: a contagious cocktail of Neue Neue Welle, electro wave, punk and current modern influences. The first edition of 300 LPs is on yellow vinyl.
