Brian Smart, singer songwriter, was raised in California's central San Joaquin Valley which is the heart of the Bakersfield Sound. His music is highly influenced by the likes of Merle Haggard with a little Bob Dylan thrown in the mix. His sound is his own, a little rough around the edges, and not without flaws, but he doesn't believe in the digitally manipulated sound that is on the market today. This CD is recorded old school on an analog 24 track recorder. Brian believes that his music is pure and comes from the heart.
