Norwegian singer/songwriter Pal Moddi Knutsen created something special with 'Unsongs'. He recorded a series of protest songs that at the time were prohibited and censored, and the attemps to suppress them varied from prohibition on airplay till brutal murder. Don't expect the familiar Dylan or Guthrie songs, but Billie Holiday's 'Strange Fruit' and Kate Bush's 'Army Dreamers' as well as Pussy Riot's 'Punk Prayer', Vietnamese and Palestinian songs and even a 19th century Sami song. 'Unsongs' contains stories from the past and lessons for the future.
