The 17 piece orchestra “Velvet Elevator” was founded by Martin Ptak and Heinz Fallmann. Their mission is to retrieve those sounds from the past and bring them back to the present and follow in the steps of orchestra greats such as Henry Mancini, Les Baxter, Hugo Montenegro or Percy Faith. The cinematic and danceable arrangements on “At The Movies” cover a range of styles from 1970s American car-chase scenes to Bossa Nova, Funk, Cha Cha and Jazz.
