Dana Heidel has been singing, playing the piano, and writing music since her early elementary years. Her musical background consists of church choirs, solo performances, musicals, madrigals, high-school county and state chorus, and college chorale. A graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Dana taught in the public school arena for over eleven years. For the past twenty plus years, she has been giving private voice and piano instruction at Dana’s Music Studio. Dana has always dreamed of composing and recording her own original songs. “I Always Wanted to Fly,” is her debut album that made that dream come true. Each song on the album derived from her life’s experience and the hope and encouragement she acquired from her ever growing relationship with Jesus. Dana is honored to lead people in worship as she has been doing for the past fifteen plus years. Her passion is to sing, play, and write music that encourages others to focus on the power, hope, and love that Jesus offers and to help others see themselves as Jesus sees them. Dana has had the privilege to study alongside master teacher, Brett Manning, of Nashville, TN, whose client list contains winners of the world’s most prestigious vocal awards, including the Doves, the CMA Awards, and the Grammy’s. In addition, she has had the honor of working with Grammy-nominee and Dove Award winning singer-songwriter Leigh Nash. Dana’s CD, “I Always Wanted to Fly,” released April 1, 2012.
