Raw Material, an inventive young British group, released two fine albums in the early 1970s Time Is..., their second album, has long been hailed as a much sought after collectors item. Hard guitar and sax riffs are contrasted with mellower acoustic ballad material such as Miracle Worker and Religion. There
are six ear-catching tracks on this excellent CD that includes the extended works Insolent Lady and Sun God. The album was originally released in 1971 on RCAs progressive Neon label and features Colin Catt (vocals), Dave Greene (guitar), Michael Fletcher (sax and flute), Phil Gunn (bass) and Paul Young (drums). Sadly, Raw Material broke up shortly after the album came out, but Time Is serves as a timely reminder of a group with enormous potential that remains highly esteemed amongst Prog rock fans.
