Two Tone Pinks were formed in Salford, Manchester from the ashes of New Wave combo Snyde in 1979, and took their name from a type of speed that was being taken by Mods who attended the all-nighters in the 60s. Taking their influences from bands such as The Buzzcocks, The Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Who and lots of Ska and Mod style music from the 60s, the band played their first gig in support of 2-Tone heroes The Selecter in August 1979. They soon established a reputation as a great live act, and gigged around the UK with the likes of The UK Subs, The Vapors, The Ruts, Salford Jets, The Killermeters, The Circles, Run229, and Fast Cars.
