Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a new CD release of HOPPKORV, the 1976 album by the legendary JEFFERSON AIRPLANE spin off group HOT TUNA. The album was the seventh recorded by the group and was the third of the so-called Power Trio era of albums by the band, following on from YELLOW FEVER (also issued by Esoteric Recordings this month). Featuring Airplane stalwarts JORMA KAUKONEN (guitars, vocals), JACK CASADY (bass) and recently recruited drummer BOB STEELER, the album expanded the sound of the group and featured guest musicians on an album that featured fine rock cover versions of material by Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, along with Jorma Kaukonen originals such as Watch the North Wind Rise, Santa Claus Retreat and Extrication Love Song. The Esoteric Recordings edition of this fine West Coast rock album is newly remastered, fully restores all original album artwork and features a new essay.
