Dust Yourself Off" is the debut album by Pleasure - an 8-piece that hailed from Portland, Oregon, and whose records such as the fantastic "Joyous" are essential items in any jazz funk collection. The band were discovered by Wayne Henderson of the Jazz Crusaders who signed them to his At Home Productions, and issued their records through Fantasy Records. Although they didnt crossover to super-stardom, their records are good examples of mid-70s Earth Wind & Fire-styled funk.
The percussive Bouncy Lady is one of the key breaks used by the pioneering DJs who created hip hop, although at the time of release the single of Midnight At The Oasis, which nearly made the charts, was its main calling card.
