Popis - IN THE GROUND:
The FIGMENTS began at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in 2007, when composer Raymond J. Lustig met and began working with classical guitarists Thomas Flippin and Christopher Mallett, who would soon make their partnership official as Duo Noire. Each of Lustig's FIGMENTS explores dependence, a wholeness that is shared in two non-independent parts. Melodies and rhythmic schemes exist not in either player’s part but in the sum of the two, so the two parts must be together to make sonic sense. The unified outer texture is actually an illusion of two inextricably interwoven parts. All tracks composed by Raymond J. Lustig All tracks performed by Duo Noire Recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Ryan Streber at Oktaven Audio, Yonkers, NY Artwork layout by John Walter Lustig Special thanks to Copland House, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Norfolk Festival, Benjamin Verdery, Robert Beaser, John Corigliano, Samuel Adler, Derek Bermel, Adam Schoenberg, Jakub Ciupinski, Cristina Spinei, Ryan Francis, Rupert Boyd, Blind Ear Music, Ana Berlin, Alejandro Berlin, Leon and Ilda Berlin, Paula Mlyn and Lee Streby of A440 Arts Group, Neke Carson, the Gershwin Hotel, and all of our families, friends, colleagues, and fans who have helped encourage and support this project.
