This work 'Amayague?a' was produced to fulfll an artistic dream for the international dance star, AMAYA of New Mexico. She expressed to Mr. Ibrahim El Samahy, the famous Egyptian composer, her desire to perform to the legendary classic, 'Malaguena' and have it especially arranged for Arabic dance. He wrote this variation of Malague?a in the form of 'Malague?a Moods' and then composed “Amaya” based on her dramatic dance style. The combination of the Power of Flamenco and Femininity of Oriental Dance made this music a perfect blend for the fiery Amaya. Also special thanks to the recording artists Mohamed El Masry and Hani Issa for their artistic contributions. Recorded in Houston, Texas. About the dancer and producer: An internationally acclaimed dance performer, AMAYA has danced all her life and in many facets of show business. She even admits to “running away to join the circus” (Circus Conelli in Zurich, Switzerland). She was a featured performer in the German extravaganza, “Salome,” and also in the theatrical production “Zorba.” In the early stages of her career, Amaya won First Place in a competition in Cairo, Egypt. More recently she won Dancer of the Year/ International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance Award. Her mentor and dance partner, Roman “Bert” Balladine, has said “Amaya is a jewel in the crown of the Oriental World.” Together they have performed with many of the greats in this fascinating dance.
