It's been some while since Ace last warmed up the wireless for a round of "Radio Gold" but the series returns this month for the first in a series of occasional special editions. Radio Gold is geared towards records that UK residents might have heard through their transistors in the early 60s but "Bigger In Britain" focuses entirely on hits that made a bigger impact here than in the land of their origin. Some reached the upper echelons of our chart without making even a dent in the USA's Hot 100. The strap line of the CD promises household names and household hits and thats whats on offer here along with information-packed track by track annotation and a label shot of the UK release of every 45 or 78 thats featured. Despite the familiarity of some titles, none has ever appeared on an Ace CD until now. Retune your DAB radios to the medium wave and wallow in an hours worth of big 50s and 60s hits that Blighty bought by the boxload when new.
