The band was founded as Peacock in 1975 by Tommy Betzler and initially toured the extended Rhine-Main area and built up a small but loyal fan base. After getting a record deal, they recorded their debut album 'The Prophet' in 1980, produced by Klaus Schulze. Then it turned out that there was already a band with the same name, so the band was re-named to P'cock.
